The Lunch box expedition

The expedition you ask? Well, as a Mom I have been on such a quest to find that perfect packed lunch. The lunch that would satisfy all four of the Forces little tummies, only to conquer it and when the new week starts everyone has changed their minds and they no longer like what is being served.

Back to the drawing board I go, to find the new favourites for the week and hope that maybe,

just maybe these options might last at least two weeks. Don't get me wrong, my kids are not fussy but they get bored and then they end up not eating the food and it gets thrown out onto the compost heap. Its a waste, and can be an expensive one at that but giving your kiddies a variety and talking to them about what they would prefer, all helps the system flow more smoothly.

Below is a break down of fruits, veggies, snacks, treats, sandwich options, non-sandwich options, fillers (for the extra hungry). My youngest daughter and son struggle with wheat and dairy, so store bought breads and dairy aren't an option for us, but instead I prefer to come up with alternatives for them. It does require more thought and time but its worth it for them.

Here are some options:
