Protein bites

These little morsels of deliciousness are packed with flavour and a nutritional punch. Perfect for the children's lunchboxes. We make a few variations of these (only because its fun and yummy) So add and remove the goodies you prefer to make your perfect snack bites.

1 cut gluten-free oats or rolled oats (if you don't have a gluten intolerance)

2/3 cup desiccated coconut

1/2 cup nut butter (you can use any nut butter you prefer)

1/2 cup ground flaxseed powder

1/3 cup honey

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Extras: you can add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, or 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, raisins, cranberries, cacao nibs,  the choices are completely up to you and don't forget to have fun making them

Method:

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and then place the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes. This will help the rolling process as the balls will stick together nicely. Once they are ready remove the dough from the fridge and roll into bite size balls. Place in a sealed container and refrigerate.
