Hi there, and welcome to my CoCoSweet. My name is Kim, but most people call me Kimmy.  I am a very blessed Mum of four children and a gorgeous hubby. We are a little crazy at times, and you might find us singing at the top of our lungs while cooking dinner but that's what makes us, us! I am a graphic designer, food blogger, recipe creator, vegetarian and lover of all things beautiful. There is nothing more exciting than creating delicious vegetarian meals for my family and friends...

ENLIGHTENMENT BOX - MYTHS & FACTS

In a world overflowing with information, I wanted to add a little section dedicated to interesting facts that I may come across in my endeavour to keep up with all that is happening out there in the healthy food industry. They may be recent events or old favourites but its great to be reminded of a plant based alternative for any food you are looking to replace in your diet.

SPIRULINA

Spirulina is an organism grown in both fresh water and salt water. Gram for gram, spirulina may be the single most nutritious food on the planet.

Containing as much as 4g protein, vitamin B1, B2 and B3, Iron and Copper as well as having antioxidants and anti-inflammatory proterties. This is a good option to add to your breakfast oats or yogurt to increase your protein.

DRAGON FRUIT OR PITATA

This unique fruit is not only beautiful but is rich in vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds like polyphenols, carotenoids and betacyanins. For your next dinner party or brunch throw in some star shaped pitata and take your dessert from ordinary to exotic in an instant (and it taste yummy too).

FLAX SEED

These little seeds of wonder! I keep finding more and more uses for these seeds from baking, salads, oils to thickeners.  Packed full of nutrients, these are a must for a vegan or vegetarian as they are a good source of Omega-3 fats  and very good for cholesterol.

OUR

LUNCH BOX

TREASURE TROVE

If you mention holidays to any mom, their first response is to sigh with relief as it means no more packing lunchboxes, and I am no exception. So I have decided to simplify my life, and create a weekly lunchbox meal plan which naturally I want to share with Mums everywhere to make our lives just a little easier...

HOMEMADE

VS

STORE BOUGHT

My little Forces are huge fans of homemade over store bought treats and snacks. I do believe that even though homemade treats may still have sugar in them at least they are not filled with preservatives and other ingredients even I struggle to pronounce. Check out some simple recipes here to bake with your kids...
